The Idea

This project aimed to showcase the elegance of Zenogati, a French luxury perfume brand. The product’s name, “Treasure of Amber,” refers to a rare and precious stone, inspired me to weave its essence into the video. I combined this concept with a touch of enchanting dynamics simulation to highlight the product’s sophistication and charm.

The Bottle

The first thing was to model the bottle from the product references. I started with simple sub-d model in Maya, and made all the texturing in Substance Painter.

Cap Texturing

A particular challenge in the texturing process was the texturing of the bottle’s cap. The real bottle has a wooden cap in a form of a ball. The best way to achieve the most realistic result was to make a 3D scan of the cap. But I didn’t have acces to it, so I used Substance Painter to do all the work.

I used a basic wood texture to make the main material and painted the sides with a different wood pattern and tried my best to merge the seam between the two patterns and make it convincing.

Amber Stones

The amber were another challenge in the overal modeling process. I used a simple texture deformer in Maya to make the structure of each piece, and randomized it for a bunch of pieces, so each one is slightly different from each other.

Final animation

The final animation features a minimalist background, highlighting a dynamic simulation of amber pieces defying gravity. This graceful motion adds elegance and intrigue, reflecting the luxurious essence of the brand.
